Description
Drone Flight School is a comprehensive set of training focused on teaching the fundamentals of FAA rules and regulations, safety, and technique with flying Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAF) or drones. We offer classes for all skill and experience levels, from those who have never flown a drone and want to gain exposure to experienced professionals wanting to pass their FAA Drone Pilot License.
Eligibility
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires anyone flying a drone for commercial purposes to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate. This FAA certificate validates that participants understand the regulations, operating requirements, and safety needs when flying drones.
Eligibility for FAA Remote Pilot Certificate:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
- Be in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone
- Pass the initial aeronautical knowledge exam
Available Courses
This 6-hour course provides participants with a basic introduction to the rules and regulations needed to safely fly drones in compliance of FAA guidelines. Participants receive one-on-one flight instruction while gaining hands-on experience. The DJI Phantom and Mavic Series small UAS are provided for participants use during class.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released new regulations requiring anyone flying or operating a small unmanned aircraft system (drone) under 55 lbs. and for commercial and hobbyists purposes is required to be a FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Keeping on top of the continuously changing regulations is the law. It is imperative for all drone users from children to adults to full-time professional drone pilots to keep up with the regulations. All drone pilots are required to register their drone and to have proof of passing a knowledge test with them any time they fly a drone. This 14-hour course provides the participants with in-depth training on all aspects of the FAA Part 107 knowledge concept rules and regulations needed to safely fly drones. We provide access to DJI Phantom and Mavic Series sUAS for the class.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Drone Pilot Training plus FAA requirements for exam are 16 and older, a U.S. citizen and be able to read and speak English.
Flying a drone can be complex, confusing and intimidating. This 3-hour course is designed for beginner and intermediate drone pilots who want more hands-on experience flying drones in a controlled environment, guided by a FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Participants navigate drones through an indoor obstacle course for hands-on, one-on-one flight instruction. Upon completion, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently perform basic and intermediate drone maneuvers. Bring your own drone or MCC can supply you with a DJI Phantom Pro 4, DJI Mavic Pro for the class. Prerequisite is completion of Intro to Drone Pilot Training.

The visual world of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or drones is exploding and ranging uses and tasks from hobbyists, real estate professionals, surveying, wedding photography, law enforcement, and more. Flying camera change the world as we see it in new and exciting ways. This 12-hour course covers the basics of using DJI Phantom and Mavic drones for photography and video work. Topics include flying safety, FAA regulations, legal concerns, camera settings, software tweaking, photo and video edition solutions and more.
