Overview
This 72-hour course prepares participants to perform the core system administration skills required in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. Topics include tools for handling files, directories, command-line environments, and documentation; booting into different run levels, identify processes, virtual machines, and controlling services; configure local storage; configure file systems and file system attributes; maintain systems; manage users and groups; and manage security.
This course is a combined Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) and Red Hat System Administration II (RH134), which are recommended by Red Hat before attempting the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam.
Exam Overview and Preparation
The performance-based Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam (EX200) tests your knowledge in areas of system administration common across a wide range of environments and deployment scenarios. The skills tested in this exam are the foundation for system administration across all Red Hat® products.
By passing the RHCSA exam, you become a Red Hat Certified System Administrator.

Classroom Facility and Technology
The Red Hat® Certified System Administrator program is taught at Metropolitan Community College Academic Data Center located in the Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology (CAET) building on the Fort Omaha Campus. The data center supports the Information Technology program area while giving its Data Center Management students real time experience.

Suggested Prerequisites
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of education or experience with Linux systems recommended (MCC's INFO 1111 course satisfies this requirement)
